Description
The existing building was a former warehouse and bullet factory dating back from the XIX century: it had to be converted into offices for Costa Container Lines.
The project envisaged the recovery of extraordinary cast-iron structure and timber floors. Due to the great width of the building (22 m.), an internal patio has been opened inside in order to allow natural light get inside: glazed walls and roof define the space of this central courtyard, making it a bright core of the complex.
New metallic element have been designed as bolted steel sheet, recalling earlier industrial technologies.
Two open space areas have been laid out at each floor.
