Description
This project concerns the construction of a new residential building in a large block in one of Turin's historic working class districts. The urban landscape you discover behind the high wall of 70s houses is an intricate network of courtyards, tiny houses and workshops that differ from the local, traditional apartment block residences.
This project comprises six duplex housing units accessed via a small road. The six houses are built side by side on more than one level: garage, garden and attic.
A large loggia-like structure made of metal pillars and walls gives a unified character to the part giving on to the road. On the ground level there are six small doors that lead to the stairs and landings, designed as threshold spaces between the house and the street. The units are divided in the garden by seven walls containing central heating systems and chimneys.
