Description
The court is formed by five-storey buildings and a nineteen-storey tower, housing shops on the ground floor and flats and offices on the upper floors. Together they create two diverse environments connected by steps: the 'piazza alta' to the north and the 'piazza bassa' (3.8 m lower) to the south. The building to the south also contains a hotel; a large two-storey underground car park is also planned.
The buildings' large glass facades are delimited by columns and concrete slabs, covered with a white metal carter. The low houses are characterised by parapets with wooden handrails, metal cables and sliding sun screens made of horizontal wooden staves.
The tower appears to be split vertically into two distinct parts: one regular shaped volume characterised by opaque glass frames which set off the balconies, the second part is made up of balconies which are set back as you work your way up the building, creating a tapered effect towards the top.
